Thank you for pointing your finger at this streak of beauty that runs through out shared culture.

My eyes were half aware of Japonisme, but my brain was not fully engaged.

i agree--and think it was that way for me too: like an "aha!" experience: once you see it you can't imagine it wasn't totally transparent to you all along.
