Hello Lotus-Green,

I've been enjoying going through your old posts. Not sure if you will see this comment but I am struck by the resemblance of the Lalique vase pictured above to drawings of his earliest (and evidently now lost) masterpiece- though the earlier example evidently featured snakes. If you are not familiar with the lost Lalique piece you might look at the PBS site:

thanks, ari -- how interesting. yes, while the drawing really almost doesn't look like a lalique, when looked at next to this one, it clearly is.

meanwhile, can't wait to explore your site.
